Me.

I started out as a journalist, writing for UK broadsheets, but began to fall in love with communications. I love the psychology behind a good comms strategy: what makes people engage? Why would you click on this link? What value does this campaign have to my mum or your brother?

I’ve always been curious. Always asked why. This is probably what has lead me to write books and scripts and speeches. What makes people tick? Where does passion come from? Does success mean much, really? My latest book, Good Enough: The Myth of Success (Hodder) is out now, and I’m working on a new book about the future of community. I have appeared on TV and radio (and popped up on the odd panel discussion) talking about criminal justice, society and North Korea.

When I’m not producing, I’m reading. Favourite books I’ve read this year have been: Robert McFarlane’s Underland; Licence to be bad: how economics corrupted us; On The Run - Fugitive Life in American Cities; Blindness (Jose Saramago).

I’m also doing another MSc at UCL, in Urban Studies, which I’m doing full-time while working full-time. Cities are my passion: I can’t get enough of learning about all the impact architecture can have on the way we navigate our streets.

Finally, you can always catch me in, near, on or around water. I surf, swim, paddleboard and sail when I can. Hiking with my dog is a close runner up.
